What vitamins are best to take when planning pregnancy

A significant part of modern physicians is inclined to believe that vitamin complexes are an optional measure. A balanced diet is much more important for the future mother, because it allows the embryo to provide the necessary substances without taking additional funds. However, taking potassium iodide and folic acid will only benefit, but on the contrary, vitamins A and E can seriously harm.
Folic acid is a water-soluble vitamin that is needed for DNA synthesis and cell division. If there is not enough folic acid in the body, the child may experience various developmental pathologies - a split lip, spina bifida, or even the absence of a brain with a critical lack of this substance.
The difficulty lies in the fact that folic acid in food products is contained in extremely small doses. It is present in vegetables, herbs and legumes, but they must be consumed in large quantities in order for this to have an effect. Therefore, doctors recommend taking folic acid three months before the planned conception. Moreover, it is also taken four months after the onset of pregnancy. The dosage in each case should be checked with your doctor.
Potassium iodide is another very important vitamin for expectant mothers. It is taken as a prophylaxis, preventing the development of dangerous iodine-deficient diseases, diseases of the thyroid gland, ophthalmic problems, and so on. If you are trying to conceive a child, you should replace the usual salt iodized in the diet.
Some doctors recommend taking vitamins A and E according to the tradition that has developed since the seventies when trying to conceive a child. Unfortunately, modern studies have shown that this practice only harms the health of the expectant mother. Too high levels of vitamin E in the body can cause the development of preeclampsia in a pregnant woman, and in a child provoke the appearance of heart disease. Too high a concentration of vitamin A causes a teratogenic effect, that is, a violation of embryonic development.
If for some reason you have taken the above vitamins in a course, after it is finished, you should wait several months before conceiving to avoid possible negative consequences for the child.
Try to eat properly during pregnancy planning, a sufficient amount of vegetables, fruits and other natural products can facilitate the conception of the child and certainly will not harm the body.
