Register to Vote: Here's How!
To register online:
1.Make sure you are eligible: You must be 18 years of age or older and a U.S. citizen.
2.Log on to everywomancounts08.com.
3.Download a voter-registration form and follow the instructions to fill it out.
4.Mail it in to your state's chief election official at least 30 days before Election Day (in most states).To register in person, call your city hall or local Department of Motor Vehicles to find out where to go.
Note:If you live in New Hampshire or Wyoming, youmustregister to vote in person.
To register for an absentee ballot:
1.Register to vote either online or in person.
2.Make sure you are eligible. About half of all states allow "no excuse absentee voting," in which anyone can request an absentee ballot. Log on to declareyourself.org to see if your state allows it.
3.At least one week before Election Day, go to declareyourself.org to find your state's election website, go there, and then download an absentee ballot request application. Fill it out and mail it to the appropriate address listed on the application.
4.When the ballot arrives by mail, mark your vote and mail it in to your local election officials.
5.If you have changed your name, you must either re-register by one of the above methods or provide a written note to your election official.
