Meat balls in tomato sauce

You will need
  • For meat balls:
  • - 300 g of mixed minced meat (pork and beef);
  • - a piece of black bread;
  • - A piece of white bread;
  • - 1 egg yolk;
  • - 1 large onion;
  • - 3 cloves of garlic;
  • - salt, spices;
  • - flour for breading;
  • - vegetable oil.
  • For the sauce:
  • - 1 onion;
  • - 1 carrot;
  • - 1 Bulgarian pepper;
  • - 1-2 cloves of garlic;
  • - A bunch of fresh greens;
  • - 3-4 Art. l tomato paste;
  • - salt, spices.
Pour bread with boiling water. Wait for it to soften and cool slightly. Then squeeze out your hands. Chop the onion in a blender. Finely chop the garlic with a knife. Mix these ingredients, add the yolk, salt and spices. Knead minced meat. If it turns out to be watery, add more bread or a little starch. Put the stuffing for 2-3 hours in the refrigerator.
Heat a frying pan and pour vegetable oil into it. Make small balls from mincemeat. Roll in flour and fry until golden brown. Put the finished mini patties on a plate.
Onions, carrots and bell peppers chop into thin strips. Then fry the vegetables in the same pan, where meat balls were cooked.If necessary, add a little vegetable oil. As soon as the onions become transparent, mix tomato paste, finely chopped garlic, salt and spices with vegetables. Pour a glass of boiled warm water, cover with a lid and reduce the heat. Leave to languish for 20 minutes.
Then put the meatballs in the vegetable mixture, so that they are completely immersed in the sauce. Cover again. Continue to cook the dish for another 20 minutes. Sprinkle the fresh dish with fresh herbs.
